About me

Hello, and welcome to Our Little North East Life 💛

I’m so glad you’re here.

My name is Alex, and I’m a 33-year-old mum of three, living in the North East of England.

I’m raising two amazing pre-teens, aged 11 and 12, and my beautiful 4-month-old baby. Life is busy, loud, emotional, exhausting, and full of love, often all at once.

This blog is my little corner of the internet where I share our real family life- the highs, the hard days, and everything in between.

💜Our family journey

Our family life comes with its own unique challenges and strengths.

One of my children is autistic, and another is currently undergoing assessment’s. My youngest has a heart condition (VSD), which has meant hospital appointments, extra monitoring, and learning how to cope with constant worry alongside everyday parenting.

Navigating additional needs, medical care, and emotional wellbeing — while raising three children on my own — hasn’t always been easy. There have been times filled with anxiety, uncertainty, and exhaustion.

But there has also been so much resilience, growth, and love.

Every day, I do my best to make sure we are all supported, safe, and cared for — even on the days when it feels overwhelming.

🤍 Why I started this blog

I started Our Little North East Life to share our story honestly and gently, and to support other parents who may be feeling alone in their journey.

This blog is for:

  • mums navigating anxiety and mental health
  • parents of children with additional needs
  • families dealing with medical conditions
  • single parents doing their best
  • anyone who feels overwhelmed but keeps going

Here, I share:

  • real-life parenting experiences
  • support around pregnancy and anxiety
  • hospital and appointment tips
  • navigating autism and additional needs
  • gentle encouragement for tired parents
  • everyday family life in the North East

My hope is that this space feels safe, supportive, and reassuring.

💚 Our everyday life

Most days, you’ll find me caring for my children, managing appointments, school life, routines, and everything in between while trying to make sure we all survive the week with a smile.

We love going on little adventures together, especially when they include:

  • a fun activity
  • a change of scenery
  • and a warm, comforting meal

It doesn’t have to be expensive or perfect just time together, creating memories.

Those simple moments mean everything to us.

💝My approach to motherhood

I don’t believe in perfect parenting.

I believe in:

  • showing up
  • trying again
  • asking for help
  • loving fiercely
  • and giving yourself grace

You can be anxious and still be an incredible mum.

You can be exhausted and still be strong.

You can struggle and still be doing an amazing job.

I’m learning every day — alongside my children — and this blog is part of that journey.

❤️Thank you for being here
